Horsfields, Hermanns and Mediterranean Spur Thigh tortoises Purchased from our company should go into the garden on dry warm sunny days but should be enclosed for their own safety in an enclosure similar to a rabbit run. They should be offered protection from strong sunlight. If you are not purchasing a complete setup from us then at night time they can simply be placed in a cardboard box lined with newspaper and cover them with rabbit hay. This box should then be placed in a cool building overnight i.e. a garden shed.
